In a world where so much has changed so rapidly as a result of the Coronavirus, now more than ever we need to come together as a local community to help and support each other. 

The landscape has changed dramatically for small businesses and our local community is under so much stress and pressure to adapt to these changes and to try and find a way forward.

We recognised this and wanted to help. With the leadership of James Griffin MP,  and the support of the Manly Chamber of Commerce, we have created a community-based website to connect home-isolated residents with small business operators in the Manly area, helping to keep businesses running and keep community spirit healthy.

The Back Your Local website acts as a central point of information on what local businesses in Manly and surrounding suburbs are offering - a one stop shop for people to find out who’s providing what and how to access it while they stay home, stay local and stay safe. 

Back Your Local also connects people in need to local charities and community organisations.  Many of these services have been under increased pressure in the recent weeks and are in need of donations now more than ever. The Back Your Local website enables people to make a donation to charities servicing those in need in the local community.

With things changing rapidly, we also wanted a resource for our community to keep up to date with official Government COVID-19 resources and financial aid information. 

And as the Government restrictions continue to change and therefore the needs of our local community change, we will organically grow and evolve with them. We have your back.

A small, voluntary team of experts who all live in the Manly area have worked together to bring Back Your Local to life in less than two weeks - creating the initiative, designing and building the website, creating content and liaising with local businesses, organisations, charities, stakeholders and individuals.
